Metallographic Polishing X5 AND SAGE 0.05 SLURRIES
Metallographic sample preparation requires multiple steps of grinding, polishing and etching to achieve highly polished surfaces to do further characterization and analysis. As most metallographers know, this is a very time consuming, expensive and tedious process. A typical polishing process involves 9 steps of grinding and polishing: 5 steps of SiC grinding, 3 steps of diamond polishing and 1 step of oxide polishing before the final etching step.
Our goal at AMS is to design products that provide the fastest polishing results by minimizing the number of steps it takes to achieve the desired finish; free of defects and scratches. AMS has launched new polishing products to significantly speed up the laborious and costly polishing process involved in sample preparation. We have successfully reduced diamond and oxide polishing steps from the typical 4 steps down to 2 steps by developing a highly aggressive one-step diamond polishing slurry called the RAZOR X5 and a one-step oxide finishing slurry called the SAGE 0.05A.
